Emergency services were called to Clitheroe on Friday evening following a crash between a car and a van.
Chatburn Road had to be closed off from around 10pm so firefighters and paramedics could release two people from one of the vehicles.
One fire engine from Clitheroe and another from Great Harwood were called to the incident and stabilised the car to allow ambulance crews to remove the occupants.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "We were called to a road traffic collision between a car and a van on Chatburn Road.
"We stabilised the vehicle to allow the ambulance service to release two casualties and we were at the scene for forty five minutes."
It is not known if the people involved were taken to hospital but it is believed they suffered only minor injuries.
The road remained closed for some time to allow the vehicles to be recovered.
