A DRUG addict said to have got arrested because he wanted somewhere warm to stay has got 30 weeks in jail.
Burnley Crown Court heard Lee Brown, 31, who stole whisky while subject to a suspended jail term, had wanted to get drunk because he was homeless and his brother had died but his family did not want him at the funeral.
Brown, who had been given a chance when he got the 28 week sentence, suspended for 12 months, in September, received 14 days for theft, with the 28 weeks to be served consecutively.
Judge Beverley Lunt told him she had warned him exactly what would happen if he breached the order.
Brown, of George Street, Oswaldtwistle, admitted theft.
