A MOTHER was terrified when she awoke in the middle of the night to find a girl standing by her bed, Burnley Magistrates heard.
The woman, who had given birth just a month before and had the baby with her in the room, tried to grab the girl who then screamed, waking the family.
Drug addict Stephen Keogh, 18, the girl's accomplice, admitted house burglary.
The defendant, of Vernon Street, Nelson, was committed on bail to crown court for sentence after the bench said their powers of punishment were not sufficient.
A 15-year-old Burnley girl, also accused of house burglary, will appear before the youth court at Reedley on December 3.
Carl Gaffney, prosecuting, said Keogh and his alleged co-accused got in via an insecure window.
The prosecutor went on: "The woman was terrified to see a young girl in her bedroom. "
Mr Gaffney said an X box had been taken, as well as a mobile phone, door keys and cash.
Fingerprint evidence was found on two bottles of Lucozade at the house and arrests were made.
