EAST Lancashire was battered by extreme weather at the weekend.
Parts of the area were hit by gale-force winds of up to 40 miles per hour.
Motorists were urged to drive with caution as several roads flooded in the county.
Parts of the M65 were also affected by a build-up of surface water which saw driving speeds reduced.
Despite the heavy downfall, firefighters across East Lancashire said that they had not been called to reports of properties flooding.
Although no severe weather warnings have been issued for East Lancashire this week, the next five days are set to be just as gloomy.
Heavy rain and strong winds have again been forecast.
