POLICE have named a motorist who was killed when his car hit a tree this morning.
Blackburn doorman Royston Stewart Orr, 35, of Greenbank Park, Longridge, is believed to have lost control of his car during heavy rain and high wind as he made his way home from work.
Mr Orr, who worked at Blackburn's popular Bar Baroque in Northgate, hit a tree off Ribchester Road.
A passing motorist found a silver Peugeot 406 crashed into a tree on Ribchester Road near to the Barker Brow Car Park.
Police say the accident happened between 3am and 3.55am and there didn't appear to have been any other cars involved.
He was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering serious injuries.
Police are appealing for witnesses to call 01254 51212.
