FIRE crews were called to Blackburn hospital after a discharged patient broke the fire glass alarms.
Just after 7.30am, one fire crew arrived at the hospital to a false alarm of a fire, where a patient who had been discharged this morning had broken five break glass fire alarms.
The crew remained at the hospital till 10am, talking to staff regarding safety and security as well as ensuring the safety of the building.
A spokesman for the fire said: "We received around seven calls to the hospital but it was a false alarm.
"An outpatient discharged this morning had broken the fire glass and no fire had occurred.
"We stayed to meet with the hospital security before we left and the matter is under police investigation."
The patient also called the ambulance on herself.
The police were called to the incident and are now investigating further.
