Shoppers in Lancashire are being urged to be extra vigilant against theft in the run up to Christmas.
Operation Shepherd will run across the county throughout December in a bid to reduce crime over the Christmas period.
Sgt Ian Corbett said: "At this time of year we often see an increase in theft from vehicles with offences occurring mainly in the town centre and store car parks.
"Last year there was an increase in people leaving highly-valuable presents on show in their cars and this acts as a beacon to criminals."
