A WAITER who attacked his partner and smashed her face on the pavement has been spared jail.
Burnley magistrates heard how Eyayor Miah, 23, had dragged Jenna Lorriman along by her hair after turning on her walking home from a drunken night out.
Miah, who had not been happy when the victim was dancing in a bar, left her with a suspected fractured nose and other injuries.
The defendant, of Brougham Street, Burnley, admitted assault causing actual bodily harm.
The bench, who told him the guideline sentence was custody, said he had put Miss Lorriman through mental torment, although he was remorseful.
Miah was given 18 months supervision with 150 hours unpaid work with £75 costs and £600 compensation.
Philip Turner, defending, said Miah had apologised to the victim personally.
He was ashamed of his actions.
