TWO pioneering council campaigns have scooped awards for their work on creating a safer environment for road users.
Lancashire County Council road safety group received the double commendation from the Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards scheme.
The first award was for the Together We Can Make The Difference' strategy which recognised that education of all road users is fundamental to improving road safety.
The second was in recognition of the Pre-Pass Support Scheme' which is aimed at drivers, usually parents and relatives, who accompany learner drivers on extra practice sessions.
