A major road had to be closed for more than two hours on Sunday night following a crash.
The Accrington bypass/A56 between Rising Bridge and Huncoat was closed in both directions after a motorcyclist lost control of his bike, crashed, and broke his arm.
Emergency services were called at around 6.25pm to the incident, which happened on the northbound carriageway and involved a Suzuki motorbike.
Luckily, the man suffered only minor injuries and was taken to hospital with a broken arm.
Motorists were asked to avoid the area and find alternative routes while police and ambulance crews dealt with the incident.
A spokesperson for the police said: "The A56 is currently closed in both directions between Rising Bridge and Huncoat while we deal with a collision.
"We would ask motorists to avoid the area and find alternative routes where possible.
"A male rider lost control of his bike and suffered a broken arm.
"He was taken to hospital."
At 8.25pm the southbound carriageway was reopened with the northbound carriageway following suit at 9.15pm.
