The driver of this vehicle must not have been happy after he was caught contravening not one, but two motoring offences, had his vehicle seized, and was told to appear in court.
Officers in Blackburn were on patrol in Whitebirk on Wednesday morning when they spotted the man talking on his mobile phone while driving his van.
Upon stopping the vehicle, police also noticed the tread on the van's tyres were at a dangerously low level.
A spokesperson for the police said: "There is absolutely no excuse for these tyres.
"The front nearside was at 0.97mm, and the front offside was 0.61mm.
"The driver was also seen talking on his mobile phone when officers first saw him at Whitebirk.
"He has been reported to court, and his vehicle was prohibited from continuing its journey."
Current UK law states tyre tread on vans must be at a minimum of 1.6mm across the central three quarters of the tread, around its entire circumference.
Drivers found in breach of this law can face a fine of up to £2,500 and three penalty points for each illegal tyre.
