A BOROUGH has reopened one of its coronavirus testing sites and closed another after public feedback.
Blackburn with Darwen Council has brought back the centre on the car park at Witton Park Academy.
It replaces the testing site at Audley Sports Centre where take up has been poor.
It complements other Covid-19 testing sites at Corporation Park and at the Old Bank Lane car park outside Royal Blackburn Hospital.
A council spokesman said "Blackburn with Darwen is doing more testing for coronavirus than almost any other area in England but more local people are being asked to play their part and come forward.
"In fact, to try and avoid a full lockdown, everyone in the borough is now being encouraged to get tested. They don’t need to have symptoms of coronavirus.
"Residents can request a home kit to be posted out to them, or attend the borough’s mobile testing facilities or the permanent site at Old Bank Lane outside Royal Blackburn Hospital.
"Mobile testing is once again available on the car park at Witton Park Academy where it will operate 11am to 6pm seven days a week.
"The move comes following feedback that the Witton Park site was more accessible and well used.
"Testing is currently also still available at Corporation Park situated close to the gatehouse on Preston New Road from 10.30am-3:30pm.
"To get tested you will just need to register beforehand online or call 119. It takes about 5 mins to do.
"If attending one of the testing facilities, once registered you will get a code. Please take this with you so staff can attach it to your test."
