On Monday Night 26th November 2007, after 4 LONG years of making ourselves heard to the previous & present administration at the Council.
We were told that from a decision 4 years ago on the 1st proposal for Burnley Wood which is currently under the Elevate intervention programme (where most of Dall St, was under threat of the Bulldozer on these and further plans). Well with our immense advise and recommendations to the Planners, Council Senior Members etc over the years. The Council now agree that Dall Street will See NO DEMOLITION AT ALL :0) this is a full 360 degree turnaround. Yippee....
The entire residents Association & its membership are overwhelmed with the outcome and can now look forward to staying in their much loved terraced homes, and can start to make future plans which they have not been able to do over the last 4 years.
A comment from one of the Association's committee members "We'd like to thank many of the Senior Members of the Council for listening to us and attending many of our meetings and finally agreeing that these terraces do not need to be demolished". I can personally say, "this will be one very festive Christmas this year, as the grey cloud has been taken from above my head and the future looks very bright".
The Resident Associations committee, would like thank its members for sticking with us through thick and thin, trusting our decisions and recommendations that we have been putting forward to the Executive Members etc, and seeing this through to finalisation. Without you the members, where would we have been? Thank you.... everyone of you. A Huge pat on the back you all deserve it ...CONGRATULATIONS.
Now lets get those corks a popping !
