Defence firm BAE Systems has signed a £11.6million contract to provide repairs to the latest addition to the RAF's fighter jet fleet.
The company, which employs about 5,000 people at Samlesbury, has been awarded the contract by the Ministry of Defence to repair Eurofighter Typhoon components until 2014.
Parts of the Typhoon are made by workers at BAE in Samlesbury.
Work, which will include windscreen and canopy assembly, will be carried out at RAF Coningsby, Lincolnshire.
