These 16 takeaways, restaurants, and cafes in East Lancashire have been given one of the worst possible food hygiene ratings in recent inspections by the Food Standards Agency.
The establishments, in Blackburn, Darwen, Accrington, Burnley, Rawtenstall, Nelson and Colne, received a rating of just 'one' in inspections carried out between January and May this year.
This means bosses of the food businesses need to make major improvements in order to comply with government standards for food safety and hygiene.
The ratings provide a basic picture of the standards of food hygiene found at the time of inspection, with all 16 establishments needing to improve in at least one category, the majority falling short in food safety management.
It is the responsibility of the business to comply with food hygiene law at all times.
The food hygiene rating scheme does not provide information on the quality of the food, customer service, culinary skill, presentation or comfort.
All ratings are available to view online on the Food Standard Agency’s (FSA) website.
All scores were correct according to the FSA website as of July 20 2020.
