Firefighters in Blackburn have proven that it's not just raging infernos they attend, after being called to help rescue this little cutie from a precarious predicament.
Crews were called around 7.30pm on Thursday to a house in Vancouver Crescent in Lammack.
The owner of the property said she'd seen the dog walking around on its own and tried to follow it to see if it was ok.
A spokesperson from the fire service said: "When she followed the dog it bolted through a gate and got it's back end stuck.
"She called us and we used the spreaders to spread the bars and free him."
The spokesperson added that once the little pooch was released he was taken by the woman and reunited with his rightful owner.
