THE M6 is currently closed in both directions due to a lorry fire.
Firefighters are currently dealing with the incident between junction 20 for the M56 and junction 19 for the A556 between Northwich and Knutsford.
Traffic has been held since around 3pm due to the fire on the southbound carriageway.
Both the lorry driver and passenger are said to be ok with no injuries.

North West Motorway Police said: “We now have a full closure southbound and northbound. This is for your own safety.
“Fire crews are on scene. We cannot open the lanes until it is confirmed it is safe to let you pass. Please bear with us.”
Police also confirmed that traffic will be made to exit at junction 20 on the southbound carriageway and junction 19 northbound.
Those stuck in the traffic are being asked to turn around by officers at the scene.
