USERS of public transport across the county are expected to reap the benefits of a £750,000 overhaul to bus services across Lancashire.

As service levels are starting to be restored following the coronavirus lockdown, Lancashire County Council has confirmed major changes to dozen of routes across the county will come into effect from today, July 19th.

The changes were announced earlier this year after funding was made available to improve current supported bus services and to restore many lost services.

In East Lancashire, an old route is to be restored to provide a link between the Ribble Valley and the Royal Blackburn Hospital.

The new service will operate between Clitheroe the hospital via Whalley, Great Harwood, Rishton, Clayton-le-Moors, Accrington, Oswaldtwistle and Guide, every hour between Monday and Saturday.

The number 45 between Preston and Blackburn is also set to see changes, with a revised timetable and increased services.

In partnership with the county council, Transdev Rosso have also revised the timetable for the 481 between Bury and Blackburn extending the Sunday and bank holiday service.

The Service 25A Mellor Brook – Mellor – Blackburn will also see a number of changes.
