A WOMAN suffered injuries to her face and head after a "shocking and violent attack" by a burglar in Preston.
Police were called to Tennyson Mill Court around 4.25am on Monday, July 6, to reports of an incident.
A man had entered a property and attacked a woman in her 30s causing head and facial injuries.
The victim’s teenage son disturbed the attacker who made off from the scene in the direction of Miller Road.
The woman was later taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.
The offender is described as being of thin build. He was wearing black clothing with a mask and hood up.
Detectives are appealing for information and urging anyone who can assist their enquiries to come forward.
Det Con Kulsum Bux, of Preston CID, said: “This was a shocking and violent attack which has left a woman injured.
“We are keen to find the offender and would encourage anyone with information to contact us.
“Did you see anyone acting suspiciously in the area during the time of the offence?
"Please get in touch.”
