A GOOD Samaritan who helped a person who was almost robbed is being sought by Burnley police.
Detectives say the victim was walking along St James Street, at 11.50am on Friday, when she was jostled by a man and woman.
Her mobile phone fell to the floor and one of the pair tried to steal it.
But a well-groomed' man, in his 50s, intervened and the couple ran off.
The grey-suited man, with grey hair and a moustache, walked off towards the nearby Royal Bank of Scotland branch.
The male attacker was white, 6ft 1in, slim, with short dark brown hair, aged 20 to 22, a spotty face, and wore a black FCUK T-shirt.
The woman was 20 to 25, 5ft 5in tall and wearing a grey bubble jacket.
Anyone recognising the couple or rescuer is asked to call Det Con Stephen Charnley on 01282 425001.
