A SINGLE mum doing two jobs to raise the deposit for a house took her brother's car to get to work for a 5.30am start despite being banned from driving.
But the spur of the moment decision landed Roxanne Goddard with a 90-day prison sentence after Blackburn magistrates heard she was in breach of a suspended prison sentence.
Goddard, 32, of Idstone Close, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and without insurance. As well as the prison sentence she was banned from driving for two years.
Isla Chilton, prosecuting, said the defendant had been given a six-month suspended prison sentence in November 2006 for 15 theft offences involving use of a credit card.
