EURO Garages is to expand further across the country by opening four new mini service stations at locations across the North West.
The Blackburn-based industry giant, owned by multi-millionaire brothers Mohsin and Zuber Issa, has snapped up locations for expansion of its petrol stations and retail outlets in Merseyside.
Acting on behalf of the EG Group, Aherne Property Consultants has acquired sites at Aintree, Maghull, Huyton and Knowsley for undisclosed sums.
Each location is at a different stage of development and will provide petrol stations, retail and hot food and drink outlets such as Greggs and Starbucks – similar to already operational sites such as the Whitebirk M65 services.
David Myers, property director at Euro Garages, said: “These sites are situated on all the main arteries serving the Liverpool conurbation and complement our existing operations in Merseyside.
“We will push ahead with the delivery of these service stations as soon as possible as we see these offering an important amenity to the locations each serves whether for passing traffic, local businesses or residents.”
Two acres of land has been bought at Mersey Reach on Dunningsbridge Road in Aintree, the main approach to Liverpool Docks. Construction on this site is due to start later this year for a convenience retail centre and a drive-thru Starbucks.
Planning permission has been granted for a filling station and three drive-thru restaurants on a five-acre plot of land at Maghull junction at junction one of the M58, where new slip roads providing East-West access to the motorway are nearing completion.
At Beacon 62 in Huyton, close to junction seven of the M62, the company has secured approval for a mini service on a 2.5-acre site, adjacent to the proposed Aldi store.
The final site is at Titan fronting the A580 East Lancs Road at the entrance to in Knowsley Industrial Estate and totals 2.5 acres.
Andrew Aherne of Aherne Property Consultants added: “I have worked with Euro Garages for a long time now as it has continued to grow its portfolio over the years."
“Owing to our successful working relationship, together with my knowledge of the North West market, I was able to identify and acquire these sites off market knowing that they would be perfectly suited to my client’s unique requirements.”
