AN East Lancashire village is to get a special ‘outreach’ post office twice a week.
The new service will operate from Trawden Forest Community Centre, Library and Shop in Church Street twice a week.
The temporary ‘Hosted Outreach Service’ will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays between noon and 2pm.
It will be operated by the postmaster from Colne while the Post Office seeks to find a permanent location for a new branch in the village.
The service will offer a wide range of products and services. Customers will be able to take advantage of a wide range of banking services including cash withdrawals and balance enquiries for customers of all the main UK banks.
The previous branch at 44 Church Street closed temporarily in 2016 following the resignation of the postmaster and the withdrawal of the premises for Post Office use.
Post Office change manager Amanda Coghlan said: “We are pleased to be able to restore Post Office service to Trawden Forest."
