A crash is causing delays on the M61
A CRASH on the M61 has caused one lane to be closed.
The incident happened on the Northbound carriageway between Junction 8 for Chorley and Junction 9 for the M65.
The outside lane of three is closed.
Traffic is particular slow around Junction 9 where the average speed has dropped to below 10mph.
Problems are expected to clear around 8.45am.
In a tweet, a spokesman for Highways England said: The M61 northbound Junction 8 to Junction 9, one lane has been closed due to a minor collision.
"Traffic Officers are currently at scene, Lancashire Police, Lancashire Fire and Rescue and the North West Ambulance Service are on their way to the area to assist."
