A TWO-year-old girl who was seriously injured after falling out of a BMW X5 on the Rising Bridge Roundabout is making good progress in hospital, police have confirmed.
No arrests have been made in connection with the incident which happened at 12.40am on Sunday.
It is believed the girl, who is from Nelson, was possibly hit by another vehicle after falling from the BMW.
She suffered a head injury and was in a serious but stable condition at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. Police have now confirmed, although still in hospital, the child is responding well to treatment.
The circumstances of how the toddler came to fall out of the car are being investigated, including whether the child was in a car seat.
Officers are continuing to appeal for a witness who may have seen the incident.
Sgt Dave Hurst said: “We believe there may have been a white vehicle, possibly a Kia, in the area at the time and we are keen to speak to them.
“If you have any information about the incident, please call us on 101 quoting incident reference 0058 of November 10th.”
