A THIRD man has appeared in court charged in connection with an incident at a house in New Wellington Street which has left a man fighting for his life.
Karl Jack Sharples, 31, of no fixed address, appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with burglary with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm and assaulting Lawrence Creaney by beating him.
Two other men, Colm Martin, 33, of Primrose Close, Blackburn, and Michael McPake, 37, of Moorgate Street, Blackburn, have already appeared in court and been sent to Preston Crown Court charged with burglary and assault.
Parveen Akhtar, prosecuting, said the incident happened at a house in New Wellington Street on Thursday afternoon.
"As a result of what happened that day a person who was inside the house is fighting for his life in hospital," said Miss Akhtar.
Sharples was sent in custody to Preston Crown Court where he will appear on December 2.
