FORMER councillor Imtiaz Ali has returned to the Conservative fold seven months after he quit the party.
He announced his resignation from the party in March and fought Billinge and Beardwood ward in May's local local elections as an Independent.
Mr Ali joined the party in 2010 and was Tory councillor for Beardwood with Lammack from 2014 to 2018.
Following his return to the party he as now been now has been selected as the Conservative Candidate for Billinge and Beardwood in May’s Blackburn with Darwen Council elections.
Julian Arnold, chairman of Blackburn Conservative Association said: "I am delighted to announce that Imtiaz Ali has returned to the Conservative Party.
"He now sees the great strides we are making and sees the values and policies that the Conservative Party has always stood for being expanded and re-enforced locally.
"Furthermore,Imtiaz has now has been selected as the Conservative Candidate for Billinge and Beardwood in next May’s Local elections."
