WATER, water, everywhere...or that was not the case in Belthorn in 1979.
We have looked in our archives back in February that years when the village was still without water three days after industrial action hit supplies to 200 homes.
Residents were told through a loudspeaker that supplies had been cut and water was brought in by tanks. In this photo, the water patrol of Belthorn children Hazel Marsden, Caroline Scholes, Edward Haward, Adrian Partington and Catherine Boocock who were going out in search of water.
Action by North West Water Authority in Blackburn affected parts of Guide district.
