A SCHOOL will next week celebrate the joys of reading and writing with its very own 'author in residence'.
Blackburn's Audley Juniors is holding five days of events to mark the publication of Year Three teacher Carol-Anne Naylor's first book.
The 36-year-old's volume 'Memoirs of Faeries' is published by Austin Macauley.
Assistant head Kelly Goddard said: "We are holding a 'meet the author' week in school.
"Each classroom will receive a signed book to read together and the children will have assemblies dedicated to reading and becoming a writer.
"We will hold a book signing on Friday where the children can buy their very own copy at a discount..
"The school is very lucky to have an actual published author on the staff and we want to use this to promote a love of reading which is so important in the digital age and raise pupil aspirations."
