The famous Thwaites Shire Horses are to make an appearance at a pub this weekend for a special fundraiser.

The beautiful horses will be at the Ranken Arms in Hoddlesden on Saturday afternoon, as the pub hosts a charity event to raise money for the East Lancashire Hospice.

Landlady, Wendy Harrop said: "It's our first year in the pub and our first charity event.

"It'll be starting at 2pm and there'll be a tombola, a kids treasure hunt, face painting and inflatable disco dome and a singer in the evening. And of course, the Thwaites Shire Horses will be here throughout the afternoon."

Entry to the fundraiser is free and all are welcome.
