POLICE are giving out advice for people to stay safe in the run up to Hallowe'en.
Officers are advising people who trek up Pendle Hill to take a torch and to ensure they do not leave valuables on display when they park up.
They are also giving advice for people planning to go out playing trick or treat.
Neighbourhood Policing Officer Ian Thompson said: "Whilst we wouldn't necessarily condone trick or treating, it is a time-honoured tradition so if youngsters want to do it, we would like them to do so in safety."
Police say children should never be allowed to go out trick or treating without an adult and they should only visit family and friends.
If you would like a leaflet, contact your neighbourhood police officer, whose details can be found at www.lancashire.police.uk or by contacting your local police station.
