On Wednesday 24th October 2007 A youth P.A.C.T. was held on the Safe Haven bus at the gate's of Whitehall Park.
This was the third youth P.A.C.T. held in Darwen and the first to be held in the south of Darwen, Twenty five young people from the area attended the meeting and spoke to PC Hambley and Pcso Cozens regarding issues that affected them in there day to day lives.
Some issues raised were regarding lighting in the parks, the age of some park equipment, the amount of litter in the areas of the parks and general state of the streets, and the need for new facilities including a bike track and skate ramps.
The meeting was held for an hour and also included youth workers from the "Young Peoples Services" who listened to the issues raised.
The Issues raised by the young people will be discussed with the shared neighbourhood team and also the local councillors.
