THE father of a woman earlier cleared of murdering a baby has appeared before Burnley magistrates, accused of assaulting her.
Ian Jeffrey, 64, pleaded not guilty to assaulting Lynn Thornton on October 20.
The defendant, of Bird Street, Brierfield, also denied assaulting Karen Holman, being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control in public and resisting police.
Jeffrey was given conditional bail until October 31. He must observe a curfew between 9pm and 7am, seven days a week, not go within 100 metres of Wesley Street and not contact prosecution witnesses, including his daughter.
