BURNLEY Youth Theatre has secured funding to stage a show providing an insight into terrorism.
The play, which is being supported by the Big Lottery Young People's fund, Lancashire County Council and Lancashire Police, will explore youngpeople's views and opinions on the subject.
Andrew Raffle, the play's Artistic Director said: "Exploring young people's perceptions of terrorism is very important. We were approached by Lancashire Police's Hate Crime division who asked us to deal with the issue, as it is quite a relevant theme at the moment."
The play is part of a bid to give youngsters the opportunity to manage performances themselves.
A panel of young people at the theatre had the chance to decide whether they wanted to take on the terrorism issue. They voted in favour.
Casting for the play will begin early in the new year. The play's writer Alice Bartlett will consult community figures, and youngsters on their perceptions of terrorism.
Anyone interested in taking part can call the theatre on 01282 427767.
