A MAN was caught on CCTV stealing a sanitary bin from a pub’s toilet.

On Friday, footage from The Knuzden Tap’s security cameras captured the brazen thief entering the pub through the back doors, before he makes his way into the ladies toilet and then quickly scurries off with a large sanitary bin.

Landlady of the Windsor Road pub, Claire Brown, said it was disgusting.

She told the Lancashire Telegraph: “The man has literally come in and looked around, looked straight in the camera like he didn’t care and just walked out with it.

“It’s wrong on so many levels. I mean, there’s stealing, and then there’s stealing a sanitary bin. The customers think it’s absolutely vile.

“I just can’t understand why someone would steal something like that.”

Ms Brown said she hadn’t reported the man, who was wearing a blue T-shirt and had a black rucksack, to the police, as she was hoping he would return to pay her some compensation so she could buy a new bin. She also said the man was known to a few regulars, and she was hoping to find out why he had stolen it in the first place.
