TWO hairdressers from Rossendale have secured themselves places in the finals of HJ's British Hairdressing Awards 2019.

John Claxton and Fran Cordey from Claxton Hair in Crawshawbooth, impressed more than 100 hair industry judges to be named one of just six stylists shortlisted for the North Western Hairdresser of the Year category.

John and Fran’s creative hairstyling and exceptional skills in cutting and colouring ensured their photographic work stood out from the rest.

Now, the duo will submit another four images of their work in the hope of catching the judges' hearts further with their expanded trend-led collection to put them in the running to be named North Western Hairdresser of the Year at the big ceremony – the Oscars of the hair world – in November.

Mr Claxton said: “The calibre of hairdressing recognised in these awards is widely known, and we are very proud to have done so well. There are many amazing hairdressers in our region and I’m thrilled to be nominated.”
