Two people were taken to hospital when emergency services were called to a crash which saw a car burst into flames.
The incident happened on Jackson Heights Road close to Belthorn at around 4pm on Friday.
A spokesperson for the police said: "We were called to a collision involving one vehicle and two people were taken to hospital.
"One side of the carriageway was blocked off due to an oil spillage before the car burst into flames.
"The fire service were called, and at 6pm, were still at the scene."
Crews from Blackburn fire service received the call to attend from the police around 5pm.
It is believed the road has now fully re-opened.
