BARNOLDSWICK G&S Society are celebrating 35 years of presenting Gilbert and Sullivan to local audiences next month with A Night at the Savoy.
The Savoy Theatre in London was built in 1881 by producer Richard Doyly Carte who brought Gilbert (words) and Sullivan (music) together and nurtured their collaboration.
The theatre became a showcase for their works and was the first public building in the world to be lit entirely by electricity.
Barnoldswick G&S Society will try to create the atmosphere of the Savoy Theatre by presenting excerpts from many of Gilbert and Sullivan's most popular works.
They are to be joined once again by the young Jane Wheeler dancers, who will dance to Sullivan's music including the finale of the ballet Pineapple Poll, which was composed from excerpts of Sullivan's music.
Over the last few years the society has widened its repertoire by performing other light operas and musicals in addition to Gilbert and Sullivan, and of late have also presented several very popular musical reviews.
A group spokesman said: "Barnoldswick G&S Society are the only society presenting live shows in Barnoldswick.
"For this to continue they need your support. If you are not in the habit of going to a live show why not give it a try, instead of moaning about the rubbish there is on TV!
"If you find you enjoy it there are openings for new members in the society, especially for men and boys but for ladies and girls also."
A Night at the Savoy is being staged from November 22 to 24 at Barnoldswick Civic Hall. For tickets call Brian Hartley on 01282 815724
