A HIGH-powered supercar crashed on the M66.
The Lamborghini crashed near junction one at Ramsbottom, at around 8am on Sunday.
A police spokesman tweeted: “The driver of this Lamborghini lost control on standing water and took out a section of barrier before making off on foot prior to police arrival.
“It’s a very expensive mistake.
“The vehicle has been recovered and enquiries are ongoing.”
The car, believed to be worth hundreds of thousands of pounds, was badly damaged.
Police said the vehicle was a hired car and has since been recovered.
Its bonnet was embedded into the bushes and its windscreen was cracked.
The car’s side panels were also damaged as a result of the crash.
