AN 18-year-old man told police he ran off after crashing into another vehicle because he panicked.
But he returned to the scene of the crash, which he had been observing from a distance, after being threatened by another man.
Pearson, of Fawcett Close, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to failing to stop after and accident and driving without a licence or insurance.
Andrew Robinson, prosecuting, said that when police arrived at the accident scene in Galligreaves Way there were two badly damaged cars but the driver of one, Pearson, had fled.
