POLICE are still hunting for a motorist who was hurt in a crash on the M65 near Nelson on Wednesday.
The Oriental man, in his 30s, suffered a head wound in the collision when his Nissan Micra overturned close to junction 12.
But, shortly after being released from his car by nearby scaffolders, and before he could be properly spoken to by police, he disappeared from the scene.
PC Glen Hilton, of Lancashire Police's motorway unit, has appealed for the man to contact police about the circumstances leading up to the collision.
He said: "We are still trying to trace him. We have no idea why he left the scene before our arrival. There was quite a lot of blood in the car and he had suffered a wound to the head."
The man was last seen near to the Lomeshaye Industrial Estate. Three other vehicles were involved in the incident, which happened around 12.45pm. People who can help are asked to contact the motorway police on 01772 410465.
