ANOTHER link of the West Pennine Moors Bridleway Loop near Helmshore, will be opened on Tuesday.
The latest section, the Moor Road bridle way, is part of the 56-mile circular route scheduled for completion in Spring 2009.
The work has resulted in the once difficult route being transformed into a link for walkers, horseriders and cyclists.
Local contractors Terra Firma Environmental Services Ltd are carrying out the process to provide a more sustainable surface.
County Coun Matthew Tomlinson, cabinet member for planning and environ-ment, said: "Moor Road has been a problematic right of way for several years, with a number of attempts having been made to improve the condition of the route, each with varying levels of success."
Ian Hart, West Pennine Moors countryside officer, said: "The partnership is delighted with this multi-use route, which allows horse riders, walkers and mountain bikers to travel off-road from Helmshore, around the edge of Holcombe Moor to Edgworth in Blackburn."
A trail is also being developed which links Cronkshaw Fold Educational Farm with the bridleway, allowing people with mobility difficulties to access the moor using Trampers - a type of off-road mobility scooter.
