A 22-YEAR-old Nelson man suffered 'serious multiple injuries' in a crash with a coach on the A59.
The man was rushed to Royal Preston Hospital after he was freed from his blue Vauxhall Vectra by firefighters.
Police believe the Vectra had been turning right out of an Esso petrol station on to the A59 Preston New Road at Samlesbury when it hit a 52 seater coach, which had no passengers at the time.
The crash happened around 9.10pm on Saturday and both vehicles were dragged 150 metres on to the other side of the carriage following the impact.
The coach driver suffered shock but declined hospital treatment.
The passenger in the Vectra suffered minor injuries and the driver of the Vectra is said to be in a poorly but stable condition.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
The road was closed for for several hours.
Inspector John Upton said: "At this stage it would appear the Vectra has turned right from the petrol station on to Preston New Road and hit a 52 seater coach which was travelling towards Preston.
"The coach and the Vectra have then travelled 150 metres onto the opposing carriageway."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Sergeant Baron on 01257 246 281.
