A HOUSE was burned to the ground in a severe fire.
Firefighters were called to Hoghton at 3.30pm where a huge blaze tore a house apart.
The incident was still being dealt with at 7.45pm as fire teams worked to put the fire out and ensure the safety of the owner.
The fire involved rubbish outside which had spread to two adjoining semi-detached properties. Crews used two jets, one hose reel and four breathing apparatus.
Nobody has been reported to be injured.
Chris Rainford from the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service Drone tweeted about the fire, with a drone picture of the house.
He tweeted: "In attendance this afternoon at house fire in Hoghton, fire well established on arrival, so great effort to stop further spread. Lots of agencies involved, all putting maximum effort into helping the unfortunate owner."
