A HEALTH centre is being transformed in a £1.27million facelift by a Rossendale firm.
B&E Boys won the contract for the 40-week revamp at Waterfoot Health Centre, which will improve the entrance areas, add more treatment rooms and create a larger pharmacy.
The health centre will remain open during the work, with some services temporarily located to other centres in the valley.
John Boys, director at B&E Boys, said: "Getting the pharmacy up and running as soon as we can is a priority as there are no other outlets for prescriptions in Waterfoot.
"With this in mind, the pharmacy restructuring is the first on the list. As soon as the work is completed it will move back, with bigger, improved facilities."
East Lancashire Primary Care Trust, which is responsible for health care in the area, awarded the contract to the building firm after considering the firm's previous work with the Rawtenstall Medical Centre and Scope.
