A WARNING about burning items during hot weather has been issued by firefighters after they were called to a garden fire.
Crews from Blackburn were called to St Marks Road in the town at 8.45pm on Friday.
Firefighters found household waste had been set on fire in a garden, which had spread to a nearby shed.
A fire service spokesman said: "We were only there for around 30 minutes.
"However we would like to warn people to not burn things during the hot, dry weather.
"Household waste should not be burnt anyway, it should be taken to a recycling centre.
"In the warm weather fires can spread very quickly so we advise everyone to not burn things in their garden or in public spaces."
