A FATHER-of-two who assaulted his ex-partner also booted her front door after a row over child acess, a court was told.
Burnley Magistrates heard how Kevin Furness, 27, punched the mother of his children in the stomach, leaving her in discomfort and shocked.
He had no previous convictions.
Furness told the bench he had no income and was an out-of-work plumber. But the bench, who said he still managed to drink eight cans of lager, told him there were not many pumbers in Burnley who were jobless.
The defendant, of Chapelhouse Road, Nelson, admitted assault and damage on May 14.
He was given 120 hours unpaid work and must pay £100 compensation and £40 costs.
