... or BWCAG for short, is a volunteer-run community group for the Burnley Wood area of the town. They are a very pro-active organisation who are constantly working on neighbourhood management tasks to improve the community in and around Burnley Wood on behalf of the residents.
It has a small committee of 4 volunteers who care passionately about their area, but they are supported by various other community-minded organisations. These include Burnley Council, the Community Policing Team, councillors etc.
They also depend on funding from groups such as Accent NW, Calico, Burnley Community Chest, Burnley Enterprise and Burnley Police, among others.
Lynn Fogarty - Office Manager.
Tony Watson - Acting Treasurer.
Sue Fenn - Secretary.
Karen Heseltine - Chairperson.
Karen's appointment is a recent one, after the sad passing away of Brian Fenn, Sue's father. Karen is a local resident and also the secretary of Dall Street Residents Association.
Brian Fenn was described to me by his colleagues as the 'backbone' of the group, and you should watch this space for a tribute to his memory.
The group is located at 112 Branch Road, Burnley Wood and you can contact them on 01282 703601.
