AN East Lancashire MP has hit out over the dangers of strong cannabis.
Nigel Evans, Conservative MP for Ribble Valley, has raised his concerns over skunk' cannabis.
Speaking from Westminster, he said: "I am worried over reports that seizures of all forms of cannabis have risen by 42 per cent to nearly 4,300 kilos in the first half of this year and that according to the Forensic Science Service, 75 per cent of cannabis seized is skunk'."
This type of cannabis can be two to three times more powerful than other forms of cannabis, he said.
Mr Evans said: "Recently a study published by The Lancet warned that cannabis users were up to 40 per cent more likely than non-users to develop a psychotic illness."
