DETECTIVES have issued security advice to householders after two attempted burglaries in Darwen.
The first happened at 2.30am last Tuesday when an intruder tried to break into a house in Turncroft Road, Darwen.
The second was between 10 and 10.30pm last Thursday when the home of an 85-year-old woman was targeted in Priory Drive, Darwen.
Police are appealing to anyone with information to get in touch.
They have issued the following advice to help people avoid falling victim to burglaries at their home: l Fit visible burglar alarms and install good lighting.
l Lock all doors and windows, even when you are at home.
l Fit deadlocks to the doors and don't leave the keys where they can be seen.
l Leave a light on in a room and remember to draw the curtains when you go out at night.
